§ Chapter II · The catalogue · MMXXII — MMXXVI

Projects

A working catalogue of artifacts I have built — analytical sites, trained models, watershed plans, and dashboards. Each plate is something one can open. The science behind these works is catalogued separately on Research; the writing craft is on Writing.

River Remedy — contaminant migration site

A six-chapter, bilingual analytical site I designed and built solo as the public-facing extension of the River Remedy master's thesis. Interactive 3D surfaces, mapped sampling stations, and English/Spanish parallel narration — deployed to GitHub Pages from a single codebase I authored end-to-end.

River Remedy — master's thesis report

The 141-page final report submitted as a master's group capstone at the UC Santa Barbara Bren School, co-authored with my project team. My contribution centered on the heavy-metals hydrochemistry chapters, spatial figures, and the technical-writing voice carried across the report. Group authorship is attributed inside the document.

YOLOv8 pollinator detection model — bounding box inference on native bee
§ Plate 03 · Build artifact Model · 2025

Pollinator AI — YOLOv8 detection model

A trained YOLOv8 object-detection model and the accompanying camera-trap → inference field protocol, built for pollinator monitoring at UCSB's North Campus Open Space restoration site. The deliverable is the trained weights, a labeled training set, and a documented pipeline from raw video through detected visitation events. The scientific framing — what the model was used to ask, and what it found — lives on Research.

Whitewater River Subbasin — Preliminary Watershed Management Plan

A 77-page preliminary watershed management plan for the Whitewater River Subbasin, produced with two groupmates for ESM 224 at the UC Santa Barbara Bren School. Covers land use, hydrology, water-quality stressors, and a layered set of long-term conservation strategies, with policy and science integrated throughout. The writing-craft lens on this document lives on Writing.

California coastal water — CalCOFI oceanographic survey
§ Plate 05 · Live application R · Shiny

California Water Quality Dashboard

An interactive R Shiny application built on NOAA CalCOFI oceanographic survey data, visualizing California coastal water-quality trends, marine chemistry, and environmental indicators across decades of monitoring. Designed for exploratory use by anyone curious about the long arc of California coastal monitoring, not just specialists.
